We had put in our efforts to educate the community Pediatricians and budding Pediatric postgraduates to identify and prevent common kidney issues in children.
DAY 1
Dr. M Vijayakumar MEDAL EXAM (9.00 – 11.00): We realized the effect last year medal exam had created when we had participants from renowned institute in North India. There was more sportive competition among the participants and to boost it we had increased the prize money. Total of 82 Pediatric postgraduates participated in this medal exam, 1st, 2nd and 3rd prize of 25,000 INR,15,000 INR and 10,000 INR was awarded to the winners
ELECTROLYTES WORKSHOP:
Overwhelmed by the increasing participation we had to change the venue to St.Isabel’s auditorium to accommodate the eager delegates. Around 150 Pediatric postgraduates and practitioners participated. There were about 6 sessions and in each session, the moderator explained the approaches on the given topic and the panelist illustrated the case scenarios which were discussed and there were interactive session at the end of each topic.
DAY 2
CME: 16 national and international faculties along with 200 delegates participated. We introduced Panel discussion this year on “Nephrotic Syndrome in children” and it was appreciated well by the delegates by raising many questions and making it more interactive. We also had nephropathology and nephrourology session which was very educative.
