The vision of this exclusive Pediatric Nephrology CME is to reinstate and revisit the basics in the
diagnosis, evaluation and current therapeutic avenues of common renal problems in the
community. Renal nutrition workshop for dieticians was a new addition.
DAY 1 (14-10-2022):
RENAL NUTRITION WORKSHOP
More than 100 dieticians attended the workshop. We had a healthy discussion among doctors
and dietician, which was an eye opener to both. Ms Katie Barwick and Ms Martha Churchett
convened this meeting from Queensland Children Hospital, Brisbane.
DAY 2 (15-10-2022)
MEDAL EXAM (8.15-9.30): Pediatric postgraduates participated in this medal exam, 1st prize 25000 INR, 2nd prize15000 INR and 3rd prize 10,000 INR was awarded to the winners from various institute.
ELECTROLYTES WORKSHOP (10.00-17.00):
Pediatric postgraduates and practitioners participated in this interactive case-based electrolyte session. It was held in Auditorium, Mehta Multispecialty Hospital, Chennai and covened by Dr. S.Thangavelu and Dr Saradha Sathish. There were 6 sessions and, in each session, the moderator explained the approaches on the given topic and the panelist discussed the case scenarios.
DAY 3 (16.01.22) CME and 13th Annual Dr BR Nammalwar Oration:
This CME focused on various topics for Pediatric trainees and practitioners. The various topic
covered in the CME would help the Pediatricians to diagnose, initiate treatment for nephrology
cases and refer at the ideal time. To make it more interactive we arranged keypad session, which
was well appreciated by everyone. At the end of the CME, Dr Varna Mathew from JIPMER,
Puducherry was awarded a cash prize of 5000 INR for winning the polling competition.
